 TAKE YOURSELF SERIOUSLY

There comes a time when the fascination of dreaming is not enough. Sometimes looking at the life you envision for yourself and looking at the life you are actually living are a long distance apart. When figuring out how to get from the starting point to the finish line haunts you, you might ask: How do I get there?

First you need to take a good look at yourself. Allow yourself some quiet time. Take some time to connect with yourself and think about what it is you are really trying to accomplish. Self evaluation can reveal your desires, what has influenced you to have them, and how it may be best for you to attain it. What is it that you really want to do? It’s not about what others may think. Forget those voices that make you feel like dreams do not come true.  Furthermore, do not get caught up in daily battles. Allowing the day-to-day struggles to overwhelm you can make you feel like you aren’t getting anywhere. Stop thinking about when and how you’ll get there. First think about where and why? Vision is a very powerful thing. It helps to make your path clearer.

Secondly, get rid of the things that hinder your progress. Get rid of the negative thoughts and negative people. Be very careful, of who you allow to hear your dreams. One person’s input can completely shift your thinking. Start to streamline your life to move toward your goal. Realize the role the people around you actually play. If you fear that a person will hinder your dream then don’t share it with them. Also get rid of additional activities that may be dragging you down.  If an activity will conflict, make a decision to cut it off.

Lastly, believe in yourself. You have to learn to believe in your goals and your dreams more than any other person because there will come a time when seemingly it can feel like no one cares. The older I get the more I realize it is all up to me to make things happen. When you realize your potential you are able to tap into an area where success is actually possible. Life is what you make it. Thinking about living out your God given purpose and actually living it are two different things.

Your life is what you make it. Do what you need to do to get up and move forward in the dreams and visions for your life. Stop yourself from doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Don’t focus on the minor details, things that are not going right. Don’t get caught up in looking at other people’s lives. Don’t give up on yourself. Take a good look at where you are and then take another good look at where you want to be. Take initiative and take your time, but most of all, take your self seriously.
